The Undergraduate Art and Literary Journal at Georgia State University
You must be a Georgia State undergraduate student in good academic standing to submit your work.
All work must be previously unpublished. Works posted publicly on the internet, including those posted on Facebook, may not be eligible for publication in Underground. If you have questions regarding the eligibility of a certain piece you would like to submit, please ask us before you submit.
Simultaneous submissions will be considered with notification. It is the responsibility of the author/artist to notify us as soon as a simultaneous submission has been accepted elsewhere. Underground retains first publication rights for submissions accepted by and published in the journal. All rights revert to the author/artist after publication.
Use the search bar at the top to find the Underground page.
Determine which category (art, poetry, prose) best fits your work and select the appropriate form.
You may submit up to four individual pieces in each genre. Upload them one at a time as prompted in the form (e.g. poetry 1, poetry 2, etc.).
If you are submitting work in more than one category, you must upload each work into a form that corresponds with that category. For instance, please do not upload poetry into an art submission form.
You can complete a submission form multiple times. If you submit two poems one day and then decide to submit two more one week later, simply open another form and upload the two new poems. Again, keep in mind that we will only consider up to four pieces in any category.
Once you submit a form your submission will be listed on your OrgSync profile under the “Activity” tab.
We will consider your creative works for publication in an upcoming issue of the journal and notify you of the status of your submission(s) as soon as possible.
